Mineral Laboratory Services

The Mining Commission has a modern Laboratory located at the TIRDO complex, Kimweri Avenue, Msasani Dar es Salaam. The main function of this Laboratory is to audit the quality and quantity of minerals produced by large, medium and small-scale miners. It provides laboratory services commercially to mineral explorers, miners, mineral traders, buyers and exporters.

The Mining Commission Laboratory receives different sorts of mineral samples i.e. ores, concentrates, bullions, rocks and soil from individual customers as well as corporate entities to ascertain the minerals contained.

    • Determination of base metals in bullion, geological/exploration, soil and concentrate samples by acid digestion with AAS finish
    • XRF determination of elements of the periodic table in metallic samples, including gold, copper, iron, nickel, zinc, tin, chromium, lead and various compounds
