Mines Resident Offices

The commission is comprised of 12 mine resident offices found on the Tanzania mainland. The objective of the Mines Resident Office (MRO) is to monitor production provide authorization for mineral storage facilities and oversee the transportation of minerals to the Government Minerals warehouse.

Functions

• Monitoring day-to-day production process at the mining site;
• Verifying records, information and production reports kept by the holder of mineral rights;
• Authorizing entry into the mineral storage facility at the mine on behalf of the Government; and
• Oversee mineral removal and transportation to the Government Mineral Warehouse.
